AV-bombing
Or how to preserve your noob-ness
It’s been quite the month and quite the transition from keeping a low profile.
The PyCon AU 2026 videos are on YouTube and I was hoping my ham-fisted *Session Chair-ing *would have died in the room, lost in the edit for the top-and-tail, but no, for the majority that’s not the case.
Which means I really do need to apologise for the immortalisation of getting over-confident and messing up* Erin’s *name. *I just went over to YouTube to leave an apology but alas comments are switched off, and then learned also that I must enunciate better - something I should have learned as a child from the ABC Radio booth when visiting the Royal Easter Show in Sydney - because the auto transcript got it wrong too. *
Kattni did avoid me on the entry to her excellent talk because as the first talk I had completely jumped the cue ahead of the AV team, but we had questions in that session so no such luck afterwards.
I’m building up quite the vanity/embarrassment playlist between Morning Startup, BeeWare’s The Buzz and PyCon AU now.
Oh dear!
I counted the sessions I attended at PyCon AU 2026 and got to 30. There are well over double that (3 ballrooms) so I’ve got my next week or two’s content sorted. At least *I *won’t have to hear myself back.
😊
